FAQ

[ozy_toggle title=”Do you only shoot weddings, portraits, events and travel?” state=”closed”]
No! I specialize in weddings, portraits, events and travel, but I also produce a wide variety of media production – all aspects of television production and graphic design.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Do you photograph out-of-town weddings?” state=”closed”]
Yes. I am available to travel world-wide. I have travelled to 47 states and over 35 countries and have loved photographing every one, so there’s no doubt that I will definitely enjoy photographing your location, too.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Can I keep all of my photos?” state=”closed”]
Yes. You will receive a link to an online site where your finished digital files are located. On this site, you will have the option to share or download all of the photographs to store on your own computer. I grant lifetime usage rights which means you may print them or post them to your website, social media sties, and email them to family and friends. Debbie Thompson Photography retains the copyright on all photographs.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Are the photographs touched-up?” state=”closed”]
The photographs which you receive are edited, finished photographs, not unedited proofs directly off my camera. I review every photograph making adjustments as needed. Each image is post-processed, color-corrected and polished using the latest professional software. You can expect to receive color, black & white, sepia, and color-toned photographs. My processing style is “natural” which means I remove temporary blemishes (e.g. acne), but stay away from body alterations and over processed skin. [/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”What is your photography style?” state=”closed”]
I love natural light, but use off camera flash when necessary. I shoot primarily photojournalism and lifestyle photography – candid, unposed moments capturing the flow of events and details of your wedding day. I also shoot in a more traditional style of wedding photography for group and portrait photos. Most couples want a combination of both styles. My journalistic and traditional style combines the best of both worlds.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”How soon will I see my photos and be able to download my digital files?” state=”closed”]
A sneak peek (up to 20 images) will be posted on my Facebook page and/or blog within 24 hours. Each wedding or portrait session is also featured on my blog within two weeks. The digital files and proof story album will be available for you 4-6 weeks after your event.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”What kind of equipment do you use?” state=”closed”]
I use professional Canon digital cameras, Canon L-Series lenses, along with light reflectors, diffusers, and multiple off camera flashes when necessary. I process all of my photographs on a current Mac computer using Photoshop and the latest photo editing software.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Is a retainer required to hold my wedding date?” state=”closed”]
Yes. A retainer of 50% of your package price is required to hold your wedding date. The retainer amount applies toward your final contracted fee. The retainer amount is non-refundable. I accept payment in cash, check, or PayPal.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”When is my final payment due?” state=”closed”]
Your final payment is due 4 weeks prior to your event.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Is your wedding package flexible?” state=”closed”]
Yes. My goal is to help you find a wedding package that fits your needs. Many clients build their perfect package by, simply, adding items located on my À la carte Items list. Please call me if you have questions about my wedding photography packages/services or don’t see what you’re looking for.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”How many photographs will you take?” state=”closed”]
Every wedding package includes unlimited photographs, generally 50-100 photographs per hour of coverage.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Why do you have a photography assistant?” state=”closed”]
I have a photography assistant so I can ensure my time spent shooting your day is maximized behind the camera. My assistant handles the shot list, schedule, and transports my equipment/bags, etc.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Do you have a second shooter?” state=”closed”]
Yes! I absolutely do! The second shooter is included in wedding packages II and III. [/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Why do I have to pay tax on everything, including your services?” state=”closed”]
According to the State Board of Equalization, “When you sell art prints or shoot photographs for noncommercial use, the taxable amount of your charge will include all of the following: Your charges for the physical product you transfer to your customer, any labor and services involved in producing or fabricating the photograph, and any reproduction rights associated with the photograph.”[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”When is it best to schedule our engagement portraits?” state=”closed”]
Anytime within the year of your wedding. Some couples need photos for their save-the-dates while other only want them done right before the wedding. Most sessions would need to be shot no later than a month before the wedding. Most sessions are shot outside, so please leave wiggle room for cancelations due to poor weather. I am always looking for location suggestions, so please feel free to keep your eyes open for something unique. I prefer to shoot engagement sessions in the last hour of sunlight of the day. It is encouraged to choose locations that are not over crowded or may require expensive permits.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”What happens if it rains on my wedding day?” state=”closed”]
We will develop an alternative plan in case of rain when we meet prior to your wedding day to plan your wedding photography. But, usually, we just bring umbrellas and make it fun![/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”Other than the website, do you have additional samples of your wedding photography?” state=”closed”]
Yes. I have sample story proof books from various weddings and I encourage you to schedule a time to meet with me and view my work.[/ozy_toggle]

[ozy_toggle title=”When do you typically meet with clients?” state=”closed”]
I am available by appointment Monday – Thursday evenings, Fridays and Sundays. Please call or email to schedule an appointment.[/ozy_toggle]
